Closely linked to the world of animal biology, my illustration work allows me to combine my two passions; art and science. I currently favor the "wash-off" technique which essentially consists of painting with white gouache the places of "reserve" where the light is, covering the paper support with black ink, letting it dry, then literally. "wash" it under water. What suddenly appears is a bit like the revealing stage of a photo negative; the representation that I had imagined in negative (white gouache) suddenly appears each time the water "washes" the gouache and the ink. This technique allows me to give free rein to chance in the creative process and allows me to get closer to a certain form of automatism.

Indeed, although I currently tend towards a freer gesture, translating nature with scientific rigor was for a long time a primary concern in the realization of my figurative works.

Originally from a coastal village, the use of water brings me closer to my roots, the estuary of the St. Lawrence River and its fragile habitats. I am interested in the protection of natural areas with rich biodiversity. It is this nature to preserve that particularly inspires me and is the subject of my works.
